Dear PS 14X,
On behalf of United Community Schools (UCS) and United Federation of Teachers (UFT), I’d like to extend a Happy New Year to our students, families and staff. I hope that your school year has been off to an amazing start.
I am beyond excited to be joining the P.S. 14X family. My name is Mrs. Jacqueline Gilchrist-Whitaker, I am your newly hired Community School Director with 10+years’ experience in a prominent academic environment with a concentration in crisis management/ intervention. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and 2 Master’s Degrees of Science from Mercy College, one in Organizational Leadership and the second one in Education- School Building Leadership.
I enjoy working with students, teachers, the administrative team, and parents who each play a critical role in the student’s academic success. I am a strong believer in expecting and encouraging each student to have a growth mindset; anything is possible with effort and determination.
In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, participating in community service events. I am continually active in helping the students at my church with the college and career process to ensure they are reaching their goals.
As the Community School Director, I will initiate, facilitate, and support programs and strategies that are aligned with the school’s vision and mission. I am driven by a passion to be a positive influence in the lives of our students and families here at PS 14X.
